9º Seminário GIFT/UNIFEI 2019

 Quantum Gravity (QG) is surely the milestone of modern physics, and a complete theory on the subject promises to unvail relevant aspects of nature and reality. Hence, in this seminar I will present some phylosophical concepts that guide the search for QG together with a model for quantum graphity, proposed by F. Markopoulou et. al. (PRD 77, 104029).Quantum graphity is a background-independent model for emergent geometry, locality and matter. Where, based on graph theory, it is constructed a dynamical graph describing the system. At high energies the system is highly connected and we cannot have a notion of geometry, locality, neither matter. However, at low energy, the graph becomes ordered and local, which possibilitates the rise of such concepts.
