We Should All Try to Save the Planet

Professor Larry Lessard, from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, works in the research area of recycling of composite materials. He will present work on recent projects on the topic of recycling and sustainability, especially of used fibreglass materials from wind turbine blades.

Furthermore, in 2022-23 Professor Lessard did a round-the-world bike trip to help promote these ideas and to film a documentary film on the subject. Bike62 cycled around the world from July 2022 to August 2023, covering almost 23,000Km in 20 countries, and speaking at 30 universities to promote ways to rethink and reuse composite materials. Since January 2026, he is biking from Ushuaia, Argentina to reach Bahia, Brazil by June 2026.
